Jeff Yeomans

About The Artist(PDF)
Resume(PDF)

Jeff Yeomans’ work is pure California. His use of color, composition and brushwork create a style that is confi dent and fresh, and his alone. His coastal studies, fi gurative work and urban landscapes are a celebration of light and shadow, shapes and subjects.

“As a regional painter, I feel a responsibility to document California today, in the same way that West Coast painters have for the last century. California is where I grew up and what I know. I paint to remember the fabric and culture of the region. A study of an older neighborhood, of people working, or of dancers celebrating their culture, all bring respect and celebrate the diversity of our region. I hope my work is relevant now, as well as to future generations.”

Recently selected as an Artist Member in the California Art Club, Yeomans was recognized by Southwest Art Magazine (Oct ‘07) as an “Artist to Watch.” Seven of his paintings are included in “Land of Sunlight” , a book of landscape paintings of the San Diego region. Most recently, the August ‘08 issue of Internatonal Artist magazine features an article with Yeomans’ insights and approach to painting. With a growing reputation and work in numerous public and private collections in the U.S. and abroad, he off ers a compelling reason to follow his path as an engaging contemporary California painter.
